Postcard events

In central Scotland, and areas not far beyond, we are quite well served for postcard fairs and other relevant events at some of which you might find cards for your collection. As well as dedicated postcard fairs, many antique fairs, book fairs (such as those hosted by the Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association), “flea markets”, some charity shops and car boot sales can be worthwhile hunting grounds. It’s always wise to check with the fair organiser before travelling any distance, as dates and venues can sometimes change at short notice.

Other regular events that often have postcard sellers, or other stalls with postcards, include the following :

• the monthly antique fair at the Bellahouston Leisure Centre, 31 Bellahouston Drive, Glasgow, usually on the second Sunday of the month – see more on the Glasgow Antique Fair website.
• the monthly “Flea Market” at the Out of the Blue venue at 36, Dalmeny Street, Edinburgh, usually the last Saturday of the month – see more on the Out of the Blue website.
